How the Bible became the Bible by Donald L. Odell
Meaning In Life

While the Bible is considered a sacred tool by Christians, I think its always helpful to remember it's not a doctrine but a living course of cultivating life through a lens of evolution and prosperity.

The Bible talks about the importance of being mindful and aware of the present moment. For example, in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”

Meaning In Life

From my own experiences, I know the personal power I feel when, in the moment, I replace fearful thoughts with thoughts of faith in my own abilities and remembering my relationship with God.

The Bible also teaches us that living in the present moment is about trusting God for the future. In Proverbs 3:5-6, it says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” This verse reminds us that we need to trust God for the future and be present in the moment.

When taken literally that verse can be interpreted that the best path is to follow along with the organized religion presented by your local church or church community.

But I assert that taking the Lord to heart is living in the spirit of determination to be honest and fair with myself and with other people I meet along my path. In order to make my path straight means being realistic with myself in my goals and objectives in personal relationships knowing that mistakes will be made and I can count on myself to clean those up as need necessary.

The Bible also encourages us to enjoy the present moment. In Psalm 118:24, it says “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” This verse encourages us to appreciate the present moment and to live it to the fullest.

In other words, with each new day may I be content with where I am, in this moment, as I do my best to express love and compassion with myself with the intention that my good vibe will positively impact my friends and family to best accommodate them today.
