Spiritual Development: Watch Your Attitude
I have been having a difficult time lately between Covid-19 and the rancid politics (some from the liberals but especially of the Conservative Right). My attitude has begun to sour and even my dreams are becoming violent, depressive, and fearful. I wake up many mornings, now, with little zest for life, often just depressed.
As a gift to you today from me, I want to share thoughts from Gandhi as well as from a friend from St. Augustine, whose poem I remembered and reread last night before bed.
From Mahatma Gandhi: Your Beliefs become Your Destiny: “Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.”
And
From a small book, Danny Pine and Patty Plum Tree, DeVorss & Company, (OOP) by Ms Willie Watkins, a friend in St. Augustine, FL: Attitudes are like small seeds. They grow and bloom or Just become weeds. So watch your thoughts, Watch what they do; They become me, They become you.
Early each day, I ask Spirit to help me “see” people and events differently than I have been “seeing” them. This helps me a great deal. I cannot answer, however, the question as to why I don’t ask Spirit more routinely, with more diligence, and listen more acutely for His voice in the whispers of my mind.
Blessings and thank you for listening. Don
PS: Feel free to forward this to friends and family. Please forward the entire message.
Thanks for Listening and Blessings, Don
